Kiddos Yum Privacy Policy

Kiddos Yum is a family lunchbox app developed and operated by Kiddos LLC ("Kiddos," "we," "us," or "our"). We designed it for children ages 2–8 and their parents with no Kiddos account, advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, or public profile.

This policy explains the limited information used by Kiddos Yum and the Apple services that support it.

1. Information that stays on the device

Kiddos Yum stores the following locally on the device:

  • the parent-approved food menu;
  • current and saved Yum Boxes;
  • app preferences and local usage state;
  • reminder preference and locally scheduled notification requests; and
  • local subscription cache data used to keep the interface responsive.

Text entered in “Set from what you have” is used transiently to match foods from the bundled catalog. It is not saved after the matching flow, logged, used for tracking, or sent to Kiddos LLC.

Children do not need to provide a name, birthday, photo, location, contact information, or other identity information to use the app.

Deleting the app normally removes its on-device information, subject to standard Apple backup and device behavior. Saved boxes and menu choices can also be changed or removed in the app.

2. On-device intelligence and dictation

When Apple Intelligence is available, food matching and suggestions use Apple's Foundation Models framework on the device. Kiddos Yum does not send the parent’s prompt, menu, food choices, or model output to Kiddos LLC or to an AI service operated by Kiddos LLC. Deterministic on-device fallbacks keep the app usable when Apple Intelligence is unavailable.

If a parent chooses the microphone button supplied by the iOS keyboard, dictation is an Apple system feature governed by the device settings and Apple’s privacy terms. Kiddos Yum does not request microphone or speech-recognition permission and receives only the resulting text from the keyboard.

3. Apple purchases and private iCloud entitlement sharing

Kiddos Yum uses Apple StoreKit to offer, verify, restore, and manage Kiddos+ access. Apple processes purchases and payment information under Apple’s policies. Kiddos LLC does not receive full payment-card details.

To recognize an eligible Kiddos+ subscription across participating Kiddos apps, the app may store a small entitlement record in the user’s private Apple CloudKit database. The record is associated with the user’s Apple/iCloud account through Apple and contains only:

  • the subscription product identifier;
  • active or inactive status;
  • the last verification date and, when provided by Apple, expiration date; and
  • the originating app name and bundle identifier.

It does not contain a child’s identity, menu, typed food text, food choices, saved Yum Boxes, notification activity, or device advertising identifier. It is used only to provide and verify Kiddos+ app functionality, not for advertising, profiling, or tracking.

4. Network activity and parent-triggered links

Core child use, food artwork, audio, menus, and saved boxes work from bundled or local content.

Network activity may occur when an adult:

  • purchases, restores, or manages Kiddos+ through Apple;
  • uses the private iCloud entitlement mirror;
  • taps a Kiddos Family or App Store link; or
  • sends a support email.

When the parent taps the Kiddos Family link, the app makes a short-lived request to apps.apple.com to choose an available Apple bundle page. The response is not stored by Kiddos Yum, and the app uses an ephemeral network session without a persistent app cookie or cache. Apple may receive ordinary connection information such as an IP address under Apple’s privacy policy.

Other websites or Apple services opened by a parent are governed by their own privacy policies.

5. Local notifications

Lunch-preparation reminders are optional, off by default, and enabled only from parent-gated Settings. They are scheduled locally by iOS. Kiddos Yum does not operate a push-notification server and does not send reminder engagement, launch counts, menu choices, or device identifiers to Kiddos LLC.

6. Information a parent voluntarily sends us

If a parent contacts contact@kiddos.ai, we receive the email address and whatever information the parent chooses to include. We use it only to respond, provide support, investigate issues, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Parents should not include a child’s personal information.

We keep support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes and applicable legal obligations.

7. What we do not do

Kiddos Yum does not:

  • require a Kiddos account or sign-in;
  • display third-party advertising;
  • include third-party analytics or tracking SDKs;
  • sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising;
  • create child profiles;
  • collect a child’s precise location, contacts, photos, voice recordings, or camera content; or
  • use a child’s information to train AI models.

Apple may provide developers with diagnostics or aggregate App Store information when users have chosen to share it with Apple. Apple controls that collection under its own policies; Kiddos Yum does not add a separate analytics service.

8. Children's privacy

Kiddos Yum is directed to families and is designed so children can use the child-facing experience without providing personal information. Parent controls protect purchases, menu changes, sharing, settings, and external links.

We do not knowingly request or collect personal information directly from a child. If you believe a child sent personal information to Kiddos LLC through a support communication, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. Security, retention, and international processing

We use data minimization, Apple platform protections, private CloudKit storage, local processing, and access controls appropriate to the limited information described here. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.

On-device data remains until it is removed in the app, the app is deleted, or Apple’s device/backup behavior removes it. The private entitlement record is retained only as needed to verify cross-app Kiddos+ access and comply with legal obligations. Support communications may be processed in the United States.

10. Privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, object to certain processing, or appeal a response. Because Kiddos Yum does not create a Kiddos account, we may need enough information to verify and locate a support record, and some on-device or Apple-controlled information must be managed directly on the device or with Apple.

Parents can:

  • turn lunch reminders off in Parent Settings or iOS Settings;
  • manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple;
  • edit or delete local menus and saved boxes in the app; and
  • contact us at contact@kiddos.ai about a privacy request.

We do not discriminate against a user for exercising applicable privacy rights.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, law, or Apple platform requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required by law. Material changes will not be used to reduce protections for children without appropriate parental notice or consent.
