Kiddos TV
Kiddos TV — Helpful answers.
Getting started, everyday use, and clear answers for grown-ups.
What can we watch for free?
The app starts with four channels, and parents can replace any of them for free from the curated catalog. The four-channel allowance covers all languages together. TV Premium or eligible Kiddos+ lets you add more channels and use advanced Kiddos parent controls.
What can a parent control?
Parents can choose or block channels, shape the episode lineup, set viewing limits, bedtime and breaks, and review on-device viewing history. Available controls depend on the plan shown in the app. Curated content supports your choices; it does not replace your judgment about what suits your child.
Are there advertisements?
Embedded videos are supplied by YouTube, which may show contextual ads and process technical playback information. Kiddos does not sell or control those ads. Premium and Kiddos+ do not remove YouTube provider advertising.
Can we watch offline?
No. Streaming YouTube videos requires an internet connection. A visible catalog or saved lineup does not mean the videos have been downloaded.
Which languages can we explore?
Kiddos TV includes catalog discovery in English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese. Individual channels, videos and regional availability vary.
Why might a video be unavailable?
Check your connection and the device’s Screen Time or web-content restrictions. A video can also be removed or restricted by its provider. Ask a grown-up to review the specific restriction rather than turning off all family protections. Contact Kiddos with the app version and video title if you need help.
Where is Kiddos+ available?
Kiddos+ is currently offered in the United States. New purchase availability depends on the Apple storefront, available products and successful iCloud setup. Individual app availability and standalone plans can differ. The in-app purchase screen shows the options available to you.
How do I restore Kiddos+ on another device?
Connect to the internet and open the app originally used to subscribe. In its grown-up settings, use Restore Purchases with the Apple Account that made the purchase. Check iCloud is enabled for the account being used, then open the other participating Kiddos apps. Cross-app membership recognition and Apple Family Sharing are different: do not assume that a different family member’s Apple Account is eligible. Check the subscription’s current Apple sharing settings or contact us before buying again.
How do I manage or cancel a subscription?
Use the subscription controls in the original purchasing app or your device’s Apple subscription settings. Apple shows the current price, renewal date, cancellation and any eligible sharing options. Removing an app does not cancel an Apple-billed subscription.
Is the free app sample a subscription trial?
No. An app-provided book selection or learning, listening or play allowance is separate from an Apple subscription trial. The app explains its current sample. If an Apple trial is offered, eligibility, duration, price and automatic-renewal terms are shown before the grown-up confirms the purchase.
What can I ask Siri?
Use the app name so Siri knows which video app you mean. Begin with Search if you want to choose together.
- Siri, search in Kiddos TV.Open the normal video search screen.
- Siri, play today’s episodes on Kiddos TV.Start the app’s Today selection within your parental limits.
- Siri, browse channels in Kiddos TV.Open channel selection; adding a channel keeps the parent controls.
Spoken Search has been checked. Other registered phrases may need the corresponding Shortcuts action if Siri does not recognize them. Video playback requires a connection and keeps the normal YouTube and viewing-limit behavior.
What can I search for in Spotlight?
Search for Kiddos TV or the exact name of a channel you have seen in its catalog. Choose the app’s channel result to open it.
- Kiddos TVLook for the app and actions such as Search or Add Channels.
- A channel’s nameUse the name shown in the app. Search can include reviewed catalog channels beyond your enabled selection.
A channel that is not enabled asks the parent before adding it. Searching does not change your selection or bypass the free-channel limit. Results depend on the current catalog.
What does the Home Screen widget do?
Your Channels shows a full-picture episode preview from an enabled channel. Tap it to open that channel and play the exact featured episode, subject to the usual parental limits.
Small, medium, large and iPad extra-large sizes are included in the update. The prepared preview rotates between enabled channels on a four-hour schedule; iOS controls actual refresh timing. Open the app to refresh its prepared selection.
Add it to your Home Screen
- When the update is available, install it and open the app to complete setup.
- Touch and hold an empty part of the Home Screen. Choose Edit, then Add Widget, and find Kiddos TV.
- Choose a size, add the widget, then finish editing. On older system versions, the gallery may use a + button.
How can I use the app with Shortcuts?
Search for Kiddos TV in the Shortcuts action list. Alongside Play Today, Search and Add Channels, you can configure actions for a channel, topic or language and use the available playback controls.
- A favorite channelAdd Play Channel, choose a channel offered by the action and save it for a parent-led viewing moment.
- Choose before watchingSave a Search action to open the app’s regular search screen.
A shortcut starts the existing app experience. It does not make YouTube videos available offline, remove provider advertising or override parental settings.
Make a shortcut
- Open Shortcuts, start a new shortcut and search the action list for Kiddos TV.
- Choose an available action, fill in any choices and give the shortcut a clear name.
- Run it once with a grown-up to check the result. Keep any app setup, unlock or parent confirmation in place.
Why can’t I see an action, search result or widget yet?
This is an update preview. Some described features may not be in your installed App Store version yet. Check the app’s release notes when an update becomes available.
The examples use English. Features can depend on device, system version, language and region. Some natural-language requests need a supported on-device model; simple named actions are a separate feature. Apple’s Siri service has its own processing rules, even when an app’s own helper runs on device. These native features do not run on this website.
A few things to check
- After updating, open the app and finish its initial setup before trying system actions.
- For missing search results, check the app’s Show App in Search and Show Content in Search settings. Siri also needs to be enabled for the app where that setting is offered.
- If a spoken request fails, try the matching action in Shortcuts or open the app directly. Apple controls recognition, result order and how many quick actions fit on screen.
